Right now, in the middle of Lockdown 3, you may be feeling a bit jaded. It’s been a long haul, with working from home, not being able to see family and friends and of course not being helped by these cold dark nights.

At SanaMente we are serious about health and wellbeing and we know that one size does not fit all. The SanaMente Community is here to help and I’ve listed our offerings below, these are of no or low cost.

Stay Calm with SanaMente

Over two thirds of adults in the UK report feeling stressed or worried about the impact of Covid on their lives. 56% say they feel anxious and 63% are significantly worried about the future. The effect of prolonged anxiety on health and well being can be significant, often leading to symptoms such as mood swings, feelings of despondency, poor sleep and being unable to concentrate (to name a few). You may be feeling some of these yourself or know someone who is?

We work with people on a daily basis to help them reduce feelings of anxiety and worry, whilst building healthy coping strategies to manage the challenges in their lives. With this in mind, we are hosting fortnightly online sessions to offer hints and tips on how to cope during these stressful times. The session will include a period of guided relaxation designed to reduce anxiety and boost confidence and energy.

These sessions are of no cost to you, and open to anyone. You are invited to attend in whatever way you feel comfortable. You may want to join in and engage with the host or to login with your camera off and on mute, the choice is yours. If you are feeling worried, stressed or tired please come along. We would love to help you.

Tuesday mornings on a fortnightly basis at 10am, next session 9th February. Click this link to join the Zoom Meeting

SanaMente Slimmers

Our weekly one hour online session is safe, fun, rewarding, non-judgemental and helps you be in control of your eating habits. Each week, Clare offers guidance on different areas like healthy foods, nutrients and hydration. There is feedback from the previous week’s session to see how everyone is getting on, as well as a question and answer section. For around 20 – 30 minutes, there is a group session under hypnosis which starts with guided relaxation before helping to re-programme their subconscious to listen out for ‘switch signals’. Clare provides a recording for the group members to listen to whenever they feel like, which supports their journey to achieve their ideal shape and size.

Have you gained weight during lockdown? Perhaps got into the habit of snacking or drinking wine in the evening, maybe you’re looking to boost those healthy food choices. Give us a call on 0116 340 0630 or email: [email protected] to take that first step towards a slimmer and trimmer you. Cost is £10 per week

Sanctuary with SanaMente

This is our closed Facebook group which offers peace, calm and respite from the outside world. Practical hints, tips and ideas to help cope with anxiety, overwhelm and isolation. The group does not offer medical, economic or financial advice, nor does it provide information on COVID-19, the impact or forecast. Our purpose is to support mental health and emotional wellbeing. We ask those who join to follow our philosophy – to be kind to each other, offer support, distraction and practical advice.

With some online resources such as recordings to promote relaxation and as sense of confidence and calm, this maybe the place for you and you would be so very welcome to join us.

Steps with SanaMente

Last year we embarked on a step challenge to raise money for local charity, Menphys. The Steps4Xmas Challenge was to walk or run at least 5,000 steps a day, for 55 days, donating a minimum of £15 per person. Each £15 donation bought a Christmas gift for a disabled child in Leicestershire. Our 8 teams raised £1,575 (that’s 105 gifts) and walked a staggering 19,225 miles – the same distance as walking from San Francisco to Tokyo the long way round. It gave many of our team members the boost to get motivated and exercise – a lot of them found it so beneficial they wanted to continue in the New Year. So we have now embarked on a new step challenge for local charity, Focus. The aim is the same – to walk or run at least 5,000 steps a day from 11th January to 2nd April, donating a minimum of £15 per person. It is a great way to keep motivated during this lockdown and keep moving. If you would like to join in then please get in touch – the more the merrier.

Are you finding it difficult to go for a walk, noticed you’re feeling sluggish and tired? This may be the motivation that you need to pop on those shoes and brace the elements. You never feel worse after a walk … the hard part is taking that first step. Give us a call on 0116 340 0630 or email: [email protected] to take the first step to a fitter you.
